Fish Flox Forte (Ciprofloxacin) is a synthetic broad spectrum antibiotic that is effective against gram-negative and some gram-positive bacterial pathogens of fish e.g. aeromonads flexibacteria vibrios. Use for: Columnaris infections (Fin Rot Saddleback and Black Patch Necrosis Syndromes) Freshwater and Saltwater Furuncolosis (skin ulcers systemic disease). Because it inhibits unique target enzymes needed for bacterial replication and DNA repair it may be effective against bacteria unresponsive to other antibiotics.

Dosage & Administration
Pre-dissolve one tablet (500 mg) per two gallons of water in a small amount of water prior to adding to a hospital tank. Immerse for one hour. Repeat every day for 5-7 days with daily water changes after each treatment. Ciprofloxacin chelates divalent cations water hardness (increase dose for marine fish) and high divalent cations in diet. Its activity decreases with high pH (>6.9). It can be bacteriostatic or bactericidal depending on the effective concentration at the target site.

Keep out of reach of children. For aquarium use only. Intended for ornamental fish and/or ornamental organisms and not intended for use with fish for human consumption.

Didn't work for my sick fish BUT...

While I have seen good reviews for this product it did not work for me on the fish that was really sick. But it's my own fault... I had a 3-yr old Pleco that had an internal infection for over a month. I tried other meds like Maracyn and Maracyn II which didn't work. So I finally decided to try Fish Zole. But the Pleco died seven days after treatment began.



I still give this product a 4 because I can't blame this product for not working because the fish was sick for quite sometime... BUT I DID WANT TO MENTION that the Pleco was in a community tank with many other fish for sometime so I used this product to treat the entire tank for approximately 6 days. It's been a month and I haven't lost any other fish. So this product did not seem to be too stressful to the other fish (since it's generally better to treat only the sick fish in a quarantine tank as to not stress your healthy fish).More detail ...

It's Tetracycline pure and simple

Tired of $75 to ??? (Where is the limit?) doctor's visits to get an antibiotic for an infection? If you are savvy enough to know when you have what you may want to know that the exact same antibiotic is available to dope your fish tank and retard the growth of unhealthy bacteria. And you won't go to the pharmacy and pay $50 to $100 for 30 to 50 caplets. This is a bottle of 100 caplets for less than $28 or at least it was when I reordered from the vet supply house that ships it.

(Where I also found 100 - 500mg caps for the same price.)

A VERY GOOD PRODUCT

This is a very good product. I usually buy it 3 or 4 times a year. I personally use it and so does my family. it is regular medicine and works for all types of infection save money from going to the doctor and having him write a prescription. it is called Fish Mox but all it is amoxicillin . if you need regular penicillin get Fish Pen it is the same exact thing this is just a way of getting around the legal part of getting a prescription. this is the only way to get this stuff is by using Fish in front of the name so use it it is safe and the very same product that you would get from the doctor as far as the other antibiotics with the fish name I don't know but I do know that these 2 are the same as what you would get from your doctor I've had absessed teeth and if it had not been for this stuff I would have died thank God for it !!!More detail ...
